THE HOT WALLS and SALLY PORT

Nice size Pollock can be found day time in the deeper waters.

The odd Lobster/Edible crab can be hooked at night.

Please return all undersized fish and don’t kill the scorpion fish and crabs as their existence is the future.

Bass are just behind the breakers two hours before high tide to  two hours after.

This small pier now falling into disrepair has a long standing history and has given hours of pleasure to children fishing for wrasse from its pylons, and tourists. Unfortunately the local council seem to have neglected it. This pier hold dear many memories of the sixties sun, fun, boat trips, girls, ice cream, fishing.

It would be nice to see the formation of an  organisation formed to save this small icon of Portsmouth’s History  from becoming a distant memory.

Warning

Jumping from any of the walls piers and structures have caused death and injury

Bass, Pollock,

Night fishing in this area can be very productive  the bass lurk in the shallows cruising the shore for a morsel to eat from this point to Clarence pier.

Best bait whole squid for the biggest, raised from the sea bed by being stuffed with plastic floating foam and very large hooks. For the more abundant 2 to three pounder’s a strip of squid.

Not only has  2008 been a year of  decline in the economy but also gross neglect for one of Portsmouth's Landmarks
One of the best fishing areas in the whole of Portsmouth left to fall apart.
It has even a mention  on the historic information boards ?
Further inspection of the round tower
Shows large cracks in the walls and rusting on the gun Posts.
